Health Week 2011
Our annual health week focusing on Healthy Eating and Hygiene took place immediately after the half term break. The children were involved in a busy week of exercise, learning and fun! The rain managed to hold off for most of the outdoor activities until Friday afternoon when Sports Day - efficiently run by students from Biddenham Upper School was rained off.
Everyone enjoyed cricket coaching with Rob Flynn (a former pupil) and his colleague Ash - they are now coming in for weekly sessions until the end of term. The pro-kick challenge was an opportunity for children and staff to show their goal scoring skills and raise money for the school - thank you to those who have sent sponsorship money in.
Year 4 learnt important basic First Aid skills with Tracey from St Johns Ambulance - everyone had a go at practising making 999 calls and putting a patient into the 'recovery position'. KS1 practised 'Stepping Out Safely' with our neighbourhood police officers.
Our thanks to TESCO on Cardington Road for again generously donating £50 of fresh fruit to the school - this was enjoyed in a variety of ways including fruit salad, kebabs and smoothies.
Other activities included aerobics, healthy breakfast, keeping clean diaries and a towel design competition.
